The same things that cause snoring – a restricted airway – are the things that stand in the way of a singer going from good to great. A stop snoring exercise program is based on the same exercises that allow a singer to produce better sound, range and length of note. Their exercises may be able to help you, too.
See how one man developed his own exercise program to stop his snoring:
On top of having a restricted airway, one other underlying cause of snoring is a throat and airway structure with weakened muscles. As we grow older, it’s easy to notice that our muscles and skin tone have changed. We quickly notice this in our facial muscles, our upper arms, legs, and stomach – but we don’t always see the impact time has on our other muscle groups.
When you go to sleep, your muscles relax – including those used to support your respiratory system and airway passages. When those muscles relax, they can close in more than they do when you are awake. Those relaxed muscles that make up our breathing passages might be SO relaxed that parts of the structure are now in the path of incoming and outgoing air. That air rattles those weakened structures causing them to vibrate. The resulting sound? A snore.
Seems odd, right? A vibration in your body should make such an audible sound that it could wake people in another room? I know the older I get the more I realize my body is just a booby trap. I’m always on the lookout for some new body “adventure” to come my way. Keeps my doctor in nice cars…
For those who really want to avoid wearing a CPAP machine, a chin strap or any device that reduces snoring, a stop snoring exercise program an be implemented easily and quickly. Work out with snoring exercises (you can do them anywhere), strengthen and tone those muscles and get those body parts back where they belong! (If only a few minutes a day worked on my abs…but I believe there’s a program for that, too, somewhere!)
The exercises are not complicated (and you don’t have to have a great voice to have success!). However, as with any exercise program, commitment, consistency and proper form are critical. If you start the program, make a promise to yourself to stick with it for several weeks before you determine if the approach is working for you or not.
One such anti snoring exercise program is available for immediately purchase and download in ebook form. It was written by a man whose wife is a music teacher. Together, they were able to develop and document a set of exercises that can be done in just a few minutes a day.
You can see the details of the program here: Stop Snoring Exercise Program
He’s included descriptions of one of the exercises for free. Take a look and see if the program sounds like something you could try. If it works, you’re home free from having to wear any devices and you and your housemates can all sleep better.
